Police in Mexico City raided seven call centers, seizing hundreds of phones, computers and SIM cards used for customer extortion. After the raids, the capital’s mayor Claudia Sheinbaum urged job seekers to shun the scam call centers, saying “it’s a crime to participate in any sort of extortion”.
