Updated: Cambodia Reports First Covid-19 Death

Cambodia has confirmed its first death from Covid-19, a Health Ministry statement said on Thursday, with a spokesperson saying the man had been put on a ventilator for two days.

Updated: Total Covid-19 Cases Top 1,000 as Hun Sen Orders Quarantine Transfer

Updated 3:51 p.m. — The country recorded 24 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, putting the total found since the start of the pandemic at 1,011, as Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered that patients be transferred out of the Phnom Penh Quarantine Center where a man died on Thursday and some patients spoke of poor care.

Travel Banned, Masks Mandatory in Preah Sihanouk Amid Outbreak

Preah Sihanouk suspended transport in and out of the province, while authorities on Thursday extended school closures, and Prime Minister Hun Sen said the “February 20” Covid-19 outbreak could last past Khmer New Year next month.

Hun Sen Vaccinated, Travel Ban Floated for Preah Sihanouk

Prime Minister Hun Sen received the country’s first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Thursday, the morning after calling for either a travel ban or widespread vaccinations in Preah Sihanouk province amid a rise in Covid-19 cases there.
