The Cambodia National Love Party is a recent entrant to the political fray following the dissolution of the Cambodia National Rescue Party. The party was founded by former CNRP members Chiv Cata and Kong Kimhak in January 2020; one of the first parties formed following the dissolution of the opposition party in 2017. The party has the fifth most candidates for the June elections, with 315 candidates across 18 provinces.

VOD sat down with Kong Kimhak, vice president of the party, who unabashedly linked the party to the CNRP and said their aim was to continue the legacy of the dissolved group. He was aware that other small parties were formed by former CNRP members, which could lead to the cannibalization of opposition votes, but still expected his party to win at least 20 commune chief positions.
