Phnom Penh City Hall on Wednesday announced public fourth-dose vaccinations starting January 21 for residents aged 60 or older and February 1 for others.

The Health Ministry had previously announced the start of Pfizer booster shots for government officials and front-line workers but a City Hall document released Wednesday did not specify which vaccine would be used for the wider vaccination campaign.

The City Hall announcement said residents from age 18 will have two weeks from February 1 to 14 to be inoculated, while those 60 and older are scheduled for January 21 to 31 at more than 50 locations around the city.

The announcement, which was also translated into English by the Garments Manufacturers Association in Cambodia, said people must bring their vaccination cards and the same ID as they used to get their first dose.

People also need to wait at least four months from their previous Covid-19 vaccine dose.

The country has seen around 14 million of its 16-million population receive first and second doses, and around 4 million get third doses.
