Some 320 Phnom Penh workers who have been protesting and camping outside their shuttered garment factory for months have taken partial compensation as arranged by the Labor Ministry, but are keeping up their labor action saying they want the remainder paid out.
Garment factory workers filed a fresh petition to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court this week as they continue to camp out every night on Phnom Penh’s Veng Sreng Blvd. four months into their labor dispute.
Workers seeking compensation from the shuttered Canteran Apparel garment factory have moved their tents to the sidewalk after they were made to leave the factory compound, they said.
