Following three weeks of nationwide Covid-19 measures, the government is advising that the country’s 25 provinces and capital continue precautions and restrictions based on situations in their local jurisdictions.
Authorities across the country levied $11,000 in fines and apprehended 428 people in one day for violations of Covid-19 restrictions, while Phnom Penh arrested 51 violators during a week of curfews.
Phnom Penh police detained 21 people and confiscated a further 132 vehicles Tuesday night as they tightened their crackdown on Covid-19 curfew violators.
Phnom Penh extended a night curfew mandate by two additional weeks, preventing all non-essential movements from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as the city grapples with a growing number of active Covid-19 cases.
