A three-star police general and tycoon has unfurled a slew of corruption accusations against the country’s courts, a business associate and his family, saying he has reached out to senior government officials for help to no avail.
Local businessman Duong Chhay, who was seen beating his wife in CCTV footage released earlier this year, blamed his behavior on financial pressures and his ex-wife’s refusal to let him meet their children, as police officials would not comment on the status of the assault investigation.
The case of a tycoon’s domestic violence against his ex-wife, caught on home security cameras and shared online, is now in the hands of Phnom Penh Municipal Police as the man’s “oknha” title was revoked on Thursday by royal decree.
