Hun Sen Cancels Exams for Graduating High Schoolers

All grade 12 students will pass without taking their year-end exams due to disruptions from Covid-19, Prime Minister Hun Sen said in a surprise announcement on Tuesday that had the Education Ministry and others in the sector unable to immediately answer questions about university admissions and scholarships.

Select Public Schools to Reopen After Six-Month Covid-19 Closure

The Education Ministry will allow grade 9 and 12 students from one public high school in Phnom Penh, and students across four provinces deemed “low-risk” for Covid-19 transmission, to head back to classrooms in just over a week, following six months of shuttered schools.

Covid-19 Testing Drops by Half as No New Cases Reported for 22 Days

About 800 samples were tested for Covid-19 in Cambodia last week — less than half of the number tested the week before — while Health Ministry and WHO representatives on Monday said that the country remains at risk for outbreaks and needs to adjust to a “new normal.”
