City Hall has said that NagaWorld women protesters have shown behavior “not suitable as Khmer women.” But why is this protest, and so many others in Cambodia, made up of mostly women? And is the act of protest really contradictory to the idea of Cambodian womanhood?

NagaWorld Union to Boycott Next Negotiation Meeting

NagaWorld union representatives said they will not attend the third negotiation meeting to resolve their dispute on Wednesday because the casino corporation refuses to discuss reinstatement of workers.

Last Three Jailed NagaWorld Protesters Released

The final three NagaWorld unionists imprisoned at Phnom Penh’s PJ Prison have been released and returned home Thursday afternoon, according to rights group Licadho.

NagaCorp Sets Deadline for Striking Workers

Striking NagaWorld casino workers are “welcome” to return to their jobs without repercussions until Wednesday — after which they will be terminated for serious misconduct, NagaCorp said in a letter to protesters.
