Corpses No Longer Tested for Covid-19 in Provinces

Provincial authorities say they are no longer testing dead bodies for Covid-19 as part of a change in policy as the country pursues a gradual reopening of businesses and tourism, though Phnom Penh said it had yet to make the change.

Hundreds Rush Home From Thailand Before Border Closure

More than 300 Cambodians came through the O’Smach checkpoint in Oddar Meanchey — almost as many as had returned this whole month — ahead of the closing of borders with Thailand, while other border provinces prepared curfews and lockdown restrictions.

Up to Quarter of Returnees From Thailand Testing Positive for Covid-19

As much as 25 percent of migrant workers coming back from Covid-stricken Thailand are testing positive, according to provincial authorities, as some returnees said they believe they are contracting the disease in crowded quarantine centers along the border.

Twelve Protesters, CNRP Supporters Arrested This Week: Police

At least 12 activists and CNRP supporters have been arrested this week, according to National Police, in at least one case for incitement for “supporting the betrayal” of the outlawed opposition party’s continued activities.
