10,000 Hectares Privatized for Khun Sea, ‘Families’

Six sub-decrees signed in the span of a week privatized nearly 10,000 hectares across four provinces, with thousands of hectares going to unspecified families in northeastern provinces and a plot in Ream National Park adding to land tycoon Khun Sea’s property empire.

Tax Department Warns of Online Imposters

A group of people have taken to social media wearing tax department uniforms and are suspected of attempting fraud, the department said on Thursday.

Authorities confiscated tools from a group of 300 people they said were attempting to claim land in Preah Sihanouk on March 13, 2022.

Group of 300 Descended on Protected Forest, Police Say

The Southern Cardamom National Park received a mob of nearly 300 people Sunday morning, arriving on “uncountable” motorbikes and tuk-tuks and armed with axes and hoes to cut down trees, according to police.
