The Supreme Court decided to return the passport of a former Radio Free Asia journalist who has faced an espionage charge for five years, though a judge warned him to follow the courts’ every summons.
A former Radio Free Asia journalist who has been facing an espionage charge for five years begged the Supreme Court on Wednesday to hand back his passport so he can visit his family in the southwestern region of Vietnam known as Kampuchea Krom.
The Appeal Court will announce on December 30 whether the case against Radio Free Asia journalists Yeang Sothearin and Uon Chhin on “pornography” charges will proceed, the court said after a hearing today.
