Landfilling is underway off the shore of Kampot as the government has transferred 600 hectares to a private company to develop a $1.7-billion port.
The Transport Ministry is looking into introducing express lanes for buses on Phnom Penh’s roads to help reduce traffic jams in the increasingly congested capital.
An unidentified Chinese company will be forced to rebuild a portion of damaged road between Kampot town and the Veal Renh roundabout, which lies about 50 km west along National Road 3 on the way to Sihanoukville, due to severe damage sustained by the road, according to Transport Minister Sun Chanthol.
