Left Alone in Courtroom, Wife, Daughters Rattled by CNRP Sentencing

Human rights groups on Wednesday criticized the Tbong Khmum court’s decision to bar rights monitors, reporters and even some family members from the sentencing of seven ex-CNRP officials the day before, while a defense lawyer did not attend the hearing.

Tbong Khmum Opposition Supporters Turn Up for CNRP Sentencing

Four defendants were in hiding while dozens of local CNRP supporters gathered for what they said was the first time since the party’s dissolution as the Tbong Khmum Provincial Court on Tuesday sentenced five ex-opposition officials to jail for plotting.

One Land Disputant Detained, 20 Released in Tbong Khmum

Twenty villagers engaged in a dispute with a rubber plantation over more than 400 hectares of land in Tbong Khmum province were released from custody on Tuesday after they were arrested the day before for allegedly damaging the company’s land-clearing machinery, an official said.
