Four Traffic Cops Suspended Over Falsely Fining Motorist

Four traffic police officers have been suspended for three months after a motorist posted a video showing she had driven through a green light despite being stopped and fined for purportedly ignoring a red, as social media users piled on with accusations of improper enforcement.

‘Very Drunk’ Traffic Police Chief Fired, Not Fined

A police officer has been removed from his position as Kampong Thom traffic police chief after allegedly driving drunk and crashing his vehicle earlier this month, but has not been fined for the apparent traffic violation, a police official said on Monday.

Traffic Fines, Raised Up to Five Times Higher, to Be Levied Later

The government has raised traffic fines by as much as five times the previous rates in an effort to reduce rising roadway injuries and deaths, but officials said new penalties would not be immediately imposed to give police time to adjust.
