Svay Rieng police are investigating the alleged killing of a 34-year-old Vietnamese casino worker by a group of four to five Vietnamese people armed with sticks, pipes and stones.

Meak Kakda, Chantrea district’s Samraong commune police chief, said the casino worker died after an attack around 1:30 a.m. on Friday at the 67 Casino near the Samraong border checkpoint.

However, Kakda declined to give further details.

“Our authorities are burning their arms and legs to handle the case, and in relation to the case, I would like to keep it confidential because we are investigating. The Vietnamese fought with each other,” Kakda said.

Chantrea district police chief Kim Sokoeun said the fight took place outside.

“They fought each other on the street. First they used their fists to beat [him], and used a rock to hit him from the back,” Sokoeun said, adding that the beating was caught on the casino’s security cameras.

Suspected Murder-Suicide in Boeng Keng Kang

Three Chinese nationals were found shot dead at 2 a.m. Sunday in Boeng Keng Kang I commune’s Gold Class condominium in Phnom Penh.

Municipal police spokesman San Sokseyha said on Monday that three bodies were found, identified as Xiao Ling, Ah Wei and Ah Hong. All were around 30 years old, Sokseyha said.

A handgun was found at the scene, and the initial suspicion was a murder-suicide.

“Two people had been shot many times on their bodies, while the last one, he was shot in his head. The preliminary report says they killed each other and there are no other people involved,” Sokseyha said. “The Chinese man had killed the two people and killed himself.”

Following an autopsy, the bodies had been sent to the Toek Thla pagoda, and police were seeking the deceased’s families, he said.
