The owners of an unfinished building that collapsed last week, killing 36 people and injuring 23 others, have been charged with manslaughter and causing injury and released on bail, a court spokesman said on Tuesday.

A land management officer in Kep province said the seven-story building that collapsed on Friday, killing 36 and injuring 23 others, had started construction without a license and had only been permitted to build up to six stories.

Rescue teams have pulled 23 injured survivors and the bodies of 36 dead, including six children, from the rubble of an under-construction, seven-story building, which fell on Friday in the coastal province, Kep City Hall said in a statement on Sunday.
