Briefs: EU Puts Full EBA Withdrawal on Table, Kem Sokha Meets Hun Sen

The European Union Parliament last Thursday condemned the political persecution faced by Cambodian opposition parties ahead of elections in June and 2023, even suggesting the possibility of a full EBA suspension if the balloting was not free and fair. Former CNRP president Kem Sokha paid his respects to Prime Minister Hun Sen at the funeral of the latter’s brother, Hun Neng.

Briefs: Poipet Border Reopens, Water Plant Coming to Thirsty Borey

Travelers with vaccines and proper identification can now cross into Thailand via the Poipet International Border Gate. The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority claimed it will have a clean drinking water plant ready by next year for residents of a Borey Piphup Thmey property whose residents say temporary water tanks are not enough to quench their thirst.
