Gov’t Told UN: We Have No Leads on Thai Dissident’s Abduction

Cambodian authorities told the U.N. that the visa of Wanchalearm Satsaksit, a missing Thai dissident living in exile in Phnom Penh, had expired almost three years ago when questioned about his alleged abduction from outside his apartment by armed men in June.

Ministry Investigating Sexual Abuse Claims Against Police Chief

The Interior Ministry is investigating sexual abuse complaints from several female police officers against their male boss, the Kampong Thom provincial police chief, who was accused of both physical abuse and verbal threats in an unverified letter leaked to the press last week.

Two Test Positive for Covid-19 After Release From Quarantine

Two Cambodians tested positive for Covid-19 this past weekend after they had been released from two separate quarantine centers, leaving health workers to trace more than 50 people with whom they were in contact, officials said.

More CNRP Activists Arrested as Families Continue Calls for Release

Four opposition activists were arrested this week amid recurring protests calling for the release from prison of a prominent labor leader as well as members of the outlawed opposition CNRP, some of whose family members continued to demonstrate in the capital on Friday.
